Throughout Covid we  reviewed all our projects, and exhibitions, and recognised that our events were not attracting young people from our community. When we began to investigate the other arts provisions available in Seaford, and the surrounding area, we realised there was very little opportunity for young people to really get involved in contemporary arts.

Our SCIP Youth programme intends to create an environment where residents age 11 - 16 can have a say about how they access contemporary visual arts in their community, and be part of developing and designing SCIP exhibitions and workshops.

Each meet up will be compleatly different, from trying out a workshop idea for us, feeding back ideas on our events, or enjoying a master class from a visiting proffessional artist! As the programme grows we hope to provide SCIP Youth members the opporunity to curate their own exhibitions and be part of curating our future exhibitions.

But you do not need to be a budding artists to join.... you may never have stepped in an art gallery, or picked up a paint brush - we really dont mind.... SCIP Youth is not an art club, SCIP Youth is an ideas hub and it is here for everyone!

There is absolulty no cost involved in being part of SCIP Youth, all materials will be covered by our project funding and sponsorship.

How often and where?

The SCIP Youth meetups will be every two to three months depending on our projects at that time. There will be opportunities to get involved in other events outside of the meetups too. We are yet to set a venue but it will be in Seaford and the first meetup will be early February 2022.

What if i miss a meetup

It's not a problem, we will email you a little report about what we did and if any materials were given out or a project set we will ensure we deliver these to you!
